PGPT Client of the Year 2025: Matt Greenblatt

At PGPT, we believe hard work, commitment, and sacrifice deserve to be recognised. Every day we’re privileged to witness our clients transform not just their bodies, but their confidence, mindset, and overall quality of life. This year, one client stood out above all others, and we’re proud to announce Matt Greenblatt as our 2025 Client of the Year.

Matt started with PGPT on December 2nd, 2024, weighing 247 lbs. One year later, on December 17th, 2025, he hit his lightest weight of 193.6 lbs; a loss of over 50 pounds. But the numbers only tell part of the story.

Matt is a 53-year-old Senior Managing Director at FTI Consulting, based in New Jersey. Like many high-performing professionals, Matt had spent years prioritising career, family, and responsibilities over his own health. Despite putting in serious effort – intense workouts, cardio, HIIT sessions, and countless “fad” diets – the results just weren’t coming anymore.

After turning 50, Matt began to feel like meaningful change was no longer possible without medication he had no interest in taking. His energy was low, sleep was poor, and frustration was setting in. He was working hard… but getting nowhere.

Then, a conversation changed everything.

While on a golf trip with a close friend of 25 years, someone who had shared the same cycle of diets and weight fluctuations, Matt heard about PGPT. His friend had recently started coaching with Pete and was seeing real, sustainable results. One call later, Matt knew this wasn’t just another program.

As Matt puts it: “After one conversation with Pete, I knew this was different. This was a real way to change my approach – and my life.”

What made you start your fitness journey with PGPT?

“I was on a golf trip with a very good friend who I have known for 25 years. He and I have both shared notes with one another as we have both done a variety of “fad” diets over the years that have led to many peaks and valleys with no consistent results. While on the golf trip, he told me about his new coach from PGPT and how great it had been for him. He suggested I give Pete a call, which I did. After one conversation with Pete, I knew that “this was different” and this was truly a way to change my approach, and as a result, my life!”

How were you feeling before making the change?

“Overall, since I had hit 50 years old, I felt like I was past the point where I could make a real difference without Ozempic or some other medicine that I wasn’t interested in taking. I was feeling overweight, and I was frustrated that the things that used to work for me in my 30’s and early 40’s to lose the weight (even if only short-term) weren’t working any more. I was working out HARD (a lot of cardio and HIIT workouts) but wasn’t seeing any results. Also, I wasn’t sleeping well, and my energy level was low.”

What’s your routine look like now?

The key for me now is “consistency, not perfection”. I do three things every day: (1) I eat the same, consistent breakfast every day (as long as I am not traveling) which starts me off with 50-60 grams of protein; (2) I stay active and make sure to get 10,000 steps EVERY DAY; and (3) I stay consistent with my workouts, making sure I get between 3 and 5 each week. I don’t always stay within my calorie target for the day, and I don’t always hit the metrics set for me, but I am striving for consistency, not perfection. And it has worked! I have lost over 50 pounds in one year and I have gone from a 40-inch waist to a 33-inch waist!!!

What were 3 things about the programme with PGPT which helped you to change your lifestyle?

The program has taught me the value of making the time commitment to actually log my food, because without logging your food, you simply don’t know how many calories you are taking in.
The value of walking. I always thought that the important metric was cardio and high intensity workouts, but now I understand how the weight training is important, but the constant movement and the daily steps are critical.
You don’t have to be perfect and you can’t get down on yourself for “living your life” and indulging. Just log it, be accountable and be as consistent as possible.

Why Matt Is Our Client of the Year

Matt embodies exactly what PGPT stands for.

He showed up consistently.
He trusted the process.
He stayed accountable.
He embraced education over restriction.
And he proved that sustainable change is possible – even after 50, even with a demanding career, and even after years of frustration.

In Matt’s own words:
“This is literally the single best investment I have ever made. I have invested in me.”

Matt has been an absolute pleasure to coach, and his journey has inspired not only our team but countless others who see themselves in his story. His dedication, mindset shift, and results make him a more than worthy recipient of the title PGPT Client of the Year 2025.

Congratulations, Matt! This is just the beginning. The rewards are well and truly earned.
